Safe Building Solutions Launches Degree of Green Website
A website dedicated to supporting the new Degree of Green™ home building products rating system has been launched.
Retailers participating in the Degree of Green™ program to educate consumers and contractors on green home building products now have a website to support their efforts.
The site, www.degreeofgreen.com, was launched as thousands of business professionals from around the world gathered in Chicago for Greenbuild 2007, considered to be the premier expo on green building products.
The foundation of the Degree of Green™ program is a rating system with results spelled out in Degree of Green™ Rating Sheets.
A panel of national experts rates the products based on their extensive experience in construction, design and home improvement work. The panel includes Andrew Pace, CSI, owner of Safe Building Solutions in Waukesha, Wis.; Lyn Falk, owner of Retailworks and Solterra Studios in Thiensville, Wis., and producer of the nationally distributed Healthy Style television show; and Michael Fallarino, a New York state builder, journalist and broadcaster, holistic counselor, and interdisciplinary writer and consultant.
Participating retailers receive the rating sheets, along with a full package of marketing and communications materials that will help position them as knowledge leaders in green home building and improvement products.
The Degree of Green™ program was created in response to consumer confusion about the true green, sustainable and health attributes of home building and improvement products.
The new website offers information for retailers who would like to become a participating member of the program, and for manufacturers who would like their products rated by the Degree of Green™ program. New elements will be added to the site in the near future, including a list of participating retailers and additional support materials and functions for retailers.
Pace developed the program with the assistance of Productive Knowledge Inc., his Milwaukee-based marketing and public relations firm. The Productive Knowledge Inc. helped Pace turn the idea into a comprehensive educational and marketing program.
